meet the artist!

hi i’m pigeon!

an illustrator currently based in Plymouth, UK. through my work i explore my own experiences as a queer jewish person through contemporary art. not liking to tie myself to one medium i work in ceramics, textiles and both traditional and digital drawing and painting.

my inspiration…

As an illustrator i naturally find myself drawn towards art which contains a narrative, a lot of my old work was inspired by traditional woodblock prints, but then during my time at art college i found myself drawn towards contemporary art and a more hidden method of storytelling.

I now use my work to cope and work through my more darker feelings and emotions. then juxtaposing those themes by cocooning them in a pink, soft, sparkly blanket. smoothing down the harsh edges, while using symbolism inspired by traditional Chinese art and more typical association to discuss mental health and my struggles as a Queer Jewish person.
